Job DescriptionAre you a qualified lawyer with an interest in compliance?Do you have 4+ years PQE?Have you previously worked within a risk/commercial legal environment?A top independent UK law firm is looking for a Risk Lawyer to join their dynamic team in Bristol. The main purpose of this role is to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, particularly regarding contract management.This role is best suited to someone with prior experience within a law firm, ideally within a risk management role. Equally, someone with experience in a commercial contract review/negotiation role would also be considered favourably. Familiarity with the SRA Handbook and relevant legal/regulatory legislation would be beneficial to this role but is not mandatory.Some responsibilities:Deliver comprehensive regulatory risk trainingMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislative/regulatory changes and ensure policies/procedures are promptly updatedAddress regulatory risk and compliance issues/queriesAid in ongoing reviews of engagement letters and terms of businessProvide guidance regarding legal documentation, framework terms and contractsAssist in the onboarding of firm suppliers, specifically with contract term reviews and due diligence assessmentsReview client engagement terms, codes of conduct and KYC adviceAdvise on secondment terms for new and existing secondmentsAssist in the prompt delivery of client pitches and questionnairesThis position is perfect for a well-organised, confident communicator with excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
