Your role will significantly enhance the learning experience for these students, ensuring they feel included and valued in their educational journey.Job Title: Behaviour Support MentorLocation: DorchesterPay Rate: £12.82 - £12.82 per hour (Depending on experience)Start Date: January 2025 start (Immediately also possible)Contract: Day-to-Day/Long-Term, Full-time/Part-timeAbout the Role: As a Behaviour Support Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with behavioural challenges, helping them to engage positively with their education and develop essential social skills. The role involves implementing behaviour management plans, supporting students both inside and outside the classroom and helping them develop positive social and academic skills.Behaviour Support Mentor Responsibilities: Work closely with the pastoral team to support students with behavioural challenges in Key Stages 3 and 4.Provide one-on-one and group support to students with behavioural challenges, helping them to manage their behaviour and engage effectively in classroom activities.Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions tailored to the individual needs of students.Assist teachers in developing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.Monitor and record student behaviour, providing regular feedback to teachers, parents and relevant professionals.Support the development and implementation of Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs) and personalised support strategies.Foster a positive and supportive relationship with students, encouraging their social and emotional development.Collaborate with the wider school team to promote a consistent approach to behaviour management.Behaviour Support Mentor Job Requirements: Previous experience with ASD, ADHD, disabilities, SEMH and SEND or in a similar role within an education or support setting.Have profound knowledge of SEND and behaviour management strategies and effective techniques to support students with challenging behaviour.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.Patience, empathy and a commitment to providing high-quality support to students with diverse needs.The ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.To work with GSL Education, you need to: Have the right to work in the UK.Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.Have an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.Join GSL Education TodayCompetitive hourly pay rates, reflective of your experience.Opportunities for professional development and continuous support from our team.Constant support from a dedicated consultant.The chance to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.We welcome applications from all applicants who feel that they can add value to an already flourishing department and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with behavioural needs.Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.As an ethical, inclusive and independent recruitment agency, GSL Education are committed to providing quality teaching and support staff in schools across the UK.For more information or to register your interest in the ‘Behaviour Support Mentor’ role, or to be considered, please click ‘apply now’ to submit your full and up-to-date CV and one of our dedicated consultants will be in touch
