Infrastructure Team Lead

Fully remote

Initial 3 month contract - will extend

80 Euros an hour (£65 an hour)

*You will be required to travel to Berlin for 3 days a month. This will be fully expensed, and you will be paid an extra 10 Euros an hour for these 3 days on site.

I am looking for an Infrastructure Team Lead to support a German electricity company who operates maintains and develops the electricity infrastructure.

As the Infrastructure Team Lead, you will focus on leading infrastructure provisioning within a large-scale infrastructure product team. This team provides foundational IT services, like network, compute, and storage, to support other program functions.

Core responsibilities include:

  1. Product Delivery Management : Working with the ICE (Infrastructure Core Engine) Delivery team, you will ensure that products are built according to specifications from product management and in collaboration with architecture teams.
  2. Team Leadership and Development : You will be responsible for managing and supporting a team of engineers, focusing on their performance, professional growth, and aligning the team with the long-term vision. This involves setting goals, developing capabilities within the team, and planning future growth.
  3. Agile Workflow Management : Utilizing Scrum practices, you will manage the team's workload and task prioritization through rituals like backlog grooming and sprint planning.
  4. Operational Oversight : Responsibilities also include handling routine operational tasks, such as timesheet and resource management, ensuring the team's day-to-day activities align with organizational needs.

Skills needed for this role:

  • Experience in enabling and growing infrastructure engineering teams
  • Experience in administering infrastructure components and proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) is necessary.
  • Experience in provisioning on-prem data centre resources using tools like Cloudify, Ansible Automation Platform, VMware vCenter, Terraform, Juniper Apstra, Cisco ACI, vyOS routers, Infoblox
  • Shell / Bash / Unix / Linux Automation
  • Proven ability to set up and manage CI/CD pipelines

Overall, the role blends technical leadership, team management, and product delivery in an Agile environment to drive infrastructure solutions.
