We are seeking a skilled Civil Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Civil Engineering and possess expertise in various technical tools and software.


Civil Engineering Technician


We currently have a position available in our Civil Engineering team due to an increase in our continued project delivery programme, as we expand and grow our commercial property portfolio.

Our Civil Engineering team undertakes a wide variety of challenging infrastructure projects across the commercial development sector. We are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician who will provide support to our Civil Engineering team working on projects throughout the Northwest.

Job Title : Civil Engineering Technician

Reporting to: Head of Civil Engineering

Location: Canal Mill, Botany Brow, Chorley, PR6 9AF

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:30

Employment: Permanent


Key Tasks

· The interpretation of technical data required to facilitate pragmatic design solutions.

· The production of technical design drawings.

· Become a technical expert in the use and operation of CAD.

· Information management and maintenance of electronic drawing data records and archives.

· Assist in the monitoring and management of contract activities.

· Deliver own tasks to time and budget

· Liaison with technical and project team managers and staff regarding planning and programming of project deliverables.


Essential Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate some or all the requirements below:

· A qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.

· Entry Level position with up to 2 years of experience.

· Good verbal and written communication skills including technical writing and oral communication.

· Be an enthusiastic professional who likes a challenge

· Experience in IT systems such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD and Microsoft 365.

· Have good interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work independently.

· Have a commitment to encouraging good health and safety practices within the workplace and within design.

· Be a team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatility.

· Hold a full UK Driving License.


We would love to hear from you if you have:

· Experience in AutoCAD within a design and construction environment

· Able to independently organise and programme own workload on a day-to-day basis, focused on delivery to time, cost and quality

· Good spatial awareness skills (including interpreting and preparing plans and technical drawings)

· Some knowledge of engineering construction and delivery methods.

· Have a desire to build upon their existing experience and continued professional development.
