IT Service Desk Systems Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
Server Administration and Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain servers to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform regular system updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Monitor server health and respond to alerts promptly.
Technical Support:
- Flexible approach in providing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line support to resolve technical issues.
- Assist users with troubleshooting hardware, software, and network problems.
- Document and track support requests and resolutions.
SQL Server Management:
- Build and troubleshoot SQL Server queries.
- Perform SQL Server reporting to support data analysis and decision-making.
- Optimize database performance and manage database security.
Backup Management:
- Implement and manage backup solutions using VEEAM.
- Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Ensure compliance with backup policies and procedures.
Lexis Nexis VisualFiles:
- Administer and support Lexis Nexis VisualFiles.
- Customize workflows and troubleshoot issues within the system. (not an outright requirement)
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum (number) years of experience in IT systems engineering or a related role.
- Proven experience with server administration, technical support, and backup management.
Skills:
- Proficiency in server administration and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of VEEAM and backup management practices.
- Experience with Lexis Nexis VisualFiles and SQL Server.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
