End User Computing Specialist

London (Hybrid)

The role:

  • Assisting in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new services and enhancements in End User Computing.
  • Managing systems for monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and security patching within the End User Computing infrastructure.
  • Ensuring compatibility and interoperability of computing systems.
  • Reviewing and analyzing the effectiveness of existing systems and developing strategies for improvement.
  • Conducting research on hardware and software products to support recommendations and purchasing decisions.
  • Proactively assisting in the design and implementation of long-term goals and short-term plans for managing End User Computing.
  • Developing, documenting, communicating, and enforcing policies and procedures for standardizing systems and software.
  • Taking initiative for personal development through training materials and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Resolving issues escalated to the End User Computing team from other support teams within agreed timelines.
  • Managing, supporting, and maintaining all server components within the environment.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server and Active Directory, with familiarity in Exchange and/or SQL Server preferred.
  • Proven experience with backup and restore solutions is required.
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles, including tools like Terraform and Ansible, and scripting languages such as Python, YAML, and PowerShell is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Kanban methodologies is also advantageous
