Join Subsea Micropiles as the Head of Projects & Engineering, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, where you will join a team driving ground-breaking innovations while leading major offshore projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities
· Lead and oversee the Projects and Engineering Management functions, ensuring timely and high-quality offshore project delivery while nurturing a collaborative and innovative work environment.
· Ensure all aspects of both internal and external project lifecycles are managed in alignment with company procedures and processes from initiation through completion, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.
· Work closely with projects and engineering management team to ensure they have the required resources, equipment, software and IT to deliver current and future projects, building out a highly effective and flexible project delivery capability.
· Develop and implement strategic plans for client funded and engineering projects that align with company goals, leveraging your expertise to enhance efficiency and performance.
· Work closely and openly with clients during projects, keeping them updated on progress, actively and honestly managing client expectations.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations in all project and engineering activities, maintaining a rigorous attention to detail and commitment to safety through the lifecycle of all projects.
· Collaborate closely with other departments such as sales, marketing, and operations to align our projects and engineering efforts with overall business objectives. You may be required to support business development efforts by attending client meetings to provide technical support.
· Mentor and develop project and engineering management and staff, providing guidance on professional growth and technical skills, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
· Drive innovation by evaluating new technologies and methodologies, recommending those that enhance our offshore project delivery capabilities and competitive edge. This will be driven through your involvement in the company’s Engineering & Technology Committee where you will participate in prioritising the development of newly emerging technologies.
· Ensure that the appropriate level of project reviews, project approvals, engineering design reviews and project reporting are carried out as per the Integrated Management System. Elevating reviews to higher technical review for additional robustness is encouraged as appropriate.
· Prepare and manage budgets for Projects & Engineering Departments, ensuring financial targets are met while delivering exceptional outcomes.
· Guide teams in capturing project lessons learned and engineering knowledge. Ensure appropriate levels of documentation are achieved
Candidate Skills & Experience Profile
- Msc / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in successfully managing multidisciplinary offshore project and engineering teams to deliver complex offshore projects within the subsea industry.
- Proven track will also include extensive offshore experience or localised project management in an international setting ensuring project delivery.
- Expertise in the design, implementation, and optimization of subsea foundation systems for offshore applications.
- Strong leadership capabilities with an emphasis on fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development among team members.
- Experience in effectively managing project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery against set objectives.
- Advanced problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and mitigate risks associated with underwater construction activities.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering processes and project management methodologies.
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise confidently with clients, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Capacity to stay updated with industry trends and regulatory requirements relevant to subsea engineering.
