Overview:

The Network Operations Engineer will oversee the daily operations, troubleshooting and monitoring of network infrastructure. This role primarily focuses on the administration and management of the company’s LAN, WAN, firewalls, load balancing, and wireless networks.

The role holder will play key role in improving the performance, security, and reliability of the company’s core network.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise and efficiently handle Keep-The-Lights-On tasks.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, configuration, and hardware-related issues to restore efficient operations.
  • Execute routine maintenance, including system backups, updates, patches, and software upgrades to ensure network resilience.
  • Collaborate with other teams to facilitate network usability.
  • Ensure the uptime, monitoring, reliability, stability, and policy maintenance of supported systems.
  • Maintain and update documentation of knowledge management, policy configuration, and operational tasks.
  • Suggest and implement security-enhancing improvements and risk management practices to address LAN and WAN vulnerabilities.
  • Incorporate external technical knowledge to drive efficiencies and continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experienced in securing, managing, and supporting a multi-site enterprise network within a small to medium-sized business environment
  • IP networking and routing protocols expertise
  • Network security and monitoring experience.
  • LAN/WAN network technologies and related protocols.
  • Firewall Technologies (Cisco ASA / Checkpoint)
  • Remote VPN (Cisco AnyConnect)

Details

  • Up to £60,000 Salary
  • Hybrid - 3 days onsite, 2 days WFH
  • Half day finish on Friday
  • 9% Pension (non contributory)
  • Permanent position
