Job Overview

The CK Group is seeking a skilled Technical Service Lead to join their team in Durham, UK. This permanent position involves managing customer relationships, providing expert technical support, and driving product innovation to meet customer expectations.

About the Role

This key position reports directly to the Technical Manager and requires an understanding of plastics compounding, particularly PVC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical service management and a proven ability to drive customer satisfaction and product innovation across various applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and training.
  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and develop solutions to enhance product performance and application outcomes.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Support quality issues resolution and collaborate with the Quality team.
  • Provide customer insights informing new product development and existing product optimisation.
  • Lead discussions with customers during the development phase ensuring new PVC compounds meet end-use application requirements.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in Polymer Science, chemical engineering, Material Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Highly experienced within a compounding industry (preferably PVC), with a strong focus on technical service and customer support.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing technical teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of compounding processes, formulations, and applications.
  • Extensive experience working with a wide range of end-use applications for plastics compounds.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to PVC compounding manufacturing.
