Our vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Southwark is looking for a dedicated Science Technician to join our team and provide essential support to our Science Department.Key Responsibilities: Laboratory Preparation: Set up and prepare equipment and materials for practical science lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all lab equipment is clean, well-maintained, and stored safely, performing routine checks and minor repairs as necessary.Safety Compliance: Adhere to and enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe learning environment for students and staff.Stock Management: Organise and manage chemical and equipment inventories, including ordering new supplies when needed.Classroom Support: Assist teachers during science practicals, offering hands-on support to students when appropriate.Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records related to equipment use, maintenance, and health and safety protocols.Requirements: DBS Certification: A DBS on the Update Service is essential for this role.Experience: Prior experience as a Science Technician is preferred but not essential.
