Job Opportunity for Science Technician Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science Technician Lead to join our team at an exceptional school in London. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our science department.

About the Role

The Science Technician Lead will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and organisation of equipment and materials for practical lessons. This includes ensuring all equipment is prepared to teachers' specifications, transporting and collecting equipment, and assisting with the development of appropriate resources and schemes of work.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational, communication, and numeracy skills, as well as experience of working under pressure and meeting deadlines. They will also possess a strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations and be able to carry out risk assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the preparation and maintenance of equipment and materials for practical lessons.
  • Ensure all equipment is prepared to teachers' specifications.
  • Transport and collect equipment as required.
  • Assist with the development of appropriate resources and schemes of work.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials.
  • Ensure full implementation of Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and numeracy skills.
  • Experience of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Able to carry out risk assessments.
  • Evidence of relevant qualifications and further training.
