- Health & Safety Compliance: Support the management team to ensure compliance with company and legal health, safety, and environmental standards.
- RAMS & SSOW: Review and sign off Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) are robust and in place.
- Contractor Management: Assess contractors' competencies and ensure they meet required health and safety standards.
- Temporary Works Coordination: Take responsibility for the coordination and safe execution of temporary works on site, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
- Operational Support: Work with the management team to implement safer working procedures and recommend improvements to current processes.
- Health & Safety Procedures: Ensure the application of health and safety standards and procedures throughout the project lifecycle, with particular emphasis on scaffolding and related temporary works.
- Compliance Audits: Regularly review and audit operational practices to ensure all activities are in line with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Experience: Previous experience in managing health & safety compliance on construction or engineering contracts, particularly scaffolding and temporary works.
- Background: Ideally, candidates will have a background in Facilities Management (FM) with a strong understanding of operational planning for reactive works.
- Health & Safety Knowledge: Familiarity with industry-specific safety and compliance standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Temporary Works Coordination: Experience in temporary works coordination, including planning and implementing safe systems of work for scaffolding or similar activities.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with management, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Qualifications: A relevant Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with scaffolding operations and temporary works systems.
- Proficiency in reviewing and managing safety documentation (RAMS, SSOW, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and risk management skills.
