Amazon is hiring a VAT Manager in London to support Digital and Devices business lines. The successful candidate will engage with business teams to develop clear tax solutions, drive implementation, and work with the global tax department to formulate wider VAT strategy. Key responsibilities include indirect tax matters, direct tax and transfer pricing issues, and coordination of cross-functional tax solutions. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant tax experience, a recognised professional tax qualification, and international VAT experience. They will be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The role is not directly involved in day-to-day VAT compliance but is responsible for delivering advisory planning, real-time coordination, and communication of various tax-related projects across EMEA regions. The Digital and Devices tax team supports various Amazon business lines, including Alexa, Audible, Kindle, and Twitch. The team also supports Project Kuiper to launch low-earth satellite broadband to unserved and underserved customers around the world. The ideal candidate will be able to clearly and concisely interface with all levels of management, analyse and review statutes, regulations, and case law, and make sound recommendations.
