The purpose of this role is to support with the continued development and implementation of the client's risk and assurance strategy and framework, the purpose of which is to support effective delivery of risk and assurance provision across the company.


This includes developing the enterprise risk management framework to support the reporting of insightful analysis of the management of risk to the Executive Committee and Audit Committee, providing risk management advice and support to the functional teams, and providing assurance on the management of reported principal risks.


Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Risk & Assurance and the Risk & Assurance Manager in ensuring that agreed approach to risk management and assurance is delivered consistently across the company and that special focus on the identification and exploration of opportunities is maintained.
  • Ensure that approach to risk management and assurance is continually informed by emerging “best practice” methodology.
  • Subject matter expert for risk management and assurance and take active steps to ensure that a positive risk culture is embedded across the company and functions.
  • Support the Head of Risk and Assurance and the Risk & Assurance Manager in preparing, updating and running risk models to inform the reported position of the anticipated overall outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of company-wide risk exposure.
  • Provide advice, guidance and contribution to risk-based decision making at various levels.
  • Support the governance process through the preparation of accurate and robust risk information and reporting.


Essential:

  • Educated to at least degree level, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Relevant experience in risk and assurance functions in large organisations or entities of equivalent complexity.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in presenting complex information to senior executives and shareholders.


Desirable:

  • Risk certification highly desirable (IRM, APM).
  • Experience in developing risk and assurance models for large organisations or entities of equivalent complexity.
  • Good working knowledge of the systems and toolsets used for Risk Management (e.g. ARM), and cost and schedule risk analysis systems (e.g. Safran, Acumen Fuse).
