Data Strategy Lead (Finance) - Remote - £700 - £800pd Outside IR35 Contract

We are looking for an experienced Data Strategy Lead with substantial expertise in the Financial Services or Brokerage sectors. This key role will focus on providing strategic guidance on data policies, performance metrics, and risk management frameworks, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize deep industry knowledge to advise on data policies , metrics , and risk management frameworks that are aligned with the unique needs of the financial services/brokerage domain.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify gaps in the company’s current data policies, metrics, and risk controls, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory guidelines .
  • Provide actionable recommendations for enhancing the company’s data strategy , governance model, and operating framework to better support business goals, risk management objectives, and performance metrics.
  • Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to integrate data strategy with overall business priorities, improving decision-making processes, compliance, and business outcomes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive experience leading data strategy initiatives, particularly within financial services , brokerage , or a closely related field.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting data within financial services (e.g., MiFID II, GDPR, etc.).
  • Proven track record in evaluating and strengthening data governance , operating models , and risk management practices .
  • Expertise in identifying and addressing gaps in current data policies and metrics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex data strategy into actionable recommendations.
  • Capable of working independently and delivering results within a short-term contract.
