Job Description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled KDB Developer to join our team and contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of our high-performance time-series database systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in q/kdb+ programming , experience in handling large datasets, and a deep understanding of financial market data. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and support scalable data solutions in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain scalable KDB+/q-based solutions for real-time and historical data processing.
  • Design, implement, and optimize queries for high-performance analytics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust database solutions.
  • Integrate KDB+ with other systems, including streaming platforms and cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure data integrity and system uptime.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices related to KDB+/q and data engineering.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in KDB+/q programming and database design.
  • Strong proficiency in handling time-series data and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with financial market data (e.g., equities, derivatives, fixed income, FX).
  • Solid understanding of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience with integration tools and APIs, including REST and streaming platforms like Kafka.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, or C++).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and deploying KDB+ in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
  • Certifications in KDB+ or related technologies are a plus.
