Position: KDB Developer

Job type: Contract - Inside IR35


We are seeking a highly skilled KDB Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of time-series databases and strong programming skills, particularly in Q/KDB+. You will work on developing and maintaining data-driven solutions, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of real-time and historical data analytics platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain KDB+/Q-based solutions for processing and analyzing time-series data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Optimize queries, scripts, and database performance to handle large datasets efficiently.
  • Integrate KDB systems with other platforms and technologies, including APIs and external data feeds.
  • Develop and support visualization and reporting tools for data analysis.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and address system performance issues.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Provide technical support, documentation, and training for end users.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong experience with KDB+/Q programming.
  • Proficiency in working with large-scale time-series data.
  • Familiarity with financial data or trading systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix systems and scripting (e.g., Python, Shell).
  • Experience with integration tools and API development.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
