Maintenance Technician

Role Overview:
The Maintenance Technician will be reporting to the Utility Supervisor, will be responsible for the reliable and compliant operation of site-wide building and utility services across all areas of the European Knowledge Centre (EKC) facility in St Albans. The Buildings Fabrics Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the integrity, safety, and functionality of the site's infrastructure, covering office spaces, laboratories, and GMP production lines. This role’s primary focus is on maintaining, repairing, and improving building fabrics to meet regulatory standards and support operational efficiency.
Qualifications and Skills Needed:
- Strong verbal and written English skills.
- Proven experience in building maintenance or facilities management, ideally within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated industry.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing building fabric issues.
- Understanding of regulatory standards relevant to building maintenance in pharmaceutical settings.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and water systems.
- Previous experience in a GxP or similarly regulated environment (preferred but not essential).
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Certifications in relevant trades, such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical.
