Job Description

I have been tasked with recruiting a talented R&D Chemist for a forward-thinking company at the forefront of advanced materials science. This is an exciting opportunity for an R&D Chemist to immerse themselves in groundbreaking research, contributing to the development of innovative technologies that significantly lower the carbon footprint of traditional construction materials.


Role Responsibilities

The successful R&D Chemist will play a pivotal role in optimising the performance of our client's novel admixtures. They will be responsible for:

- Generating and executing a technical roadmap for the commercialisation of cutting-edge technologies

- Providing technical leadership and support across the R&D team, as well as management, investors, and potential end-users

- Communicating project outcomes by preparing and delivering regular reports and technical proposals, both internally and externally

- Collaborating effectively across various scientific disciplines including process engineering

- Leading troubleshooting efforts for concrete performance issues to enhance product reliability and effectiveness

About You

The ideal R&D Chemist will possess a strong background in synthetic chemistry and demonstrate outstanding communication skills. Preferred candidates will have:

- A PhD or an equivalent qualification in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field

- Significant experience in an R&D laboratory environment, particularly within the chemical or additives industry

- Strong capabilities in chemical synthesis techniques for additives and admixtures related to polymer or coatings industries

- Proven experience in developing new chemistries from concept to delivery at bench or pilot scale

- The ability to articulate complex technical information to diverse, non-specialist audiences
