Job Title: Laboratory Instrument Support Scheduler

We are seeking a skilled administrator to join our team as a Laboratory Instrument Support (LIS) Scheduler, providing technical support for scientific instruments at one of our client sites in Stevenage on a permanent basis.

About the Role:

The main purpose of this position is to coordinate and schedule engineering work required on laboratory instruments. This includes managing work orders, liaising with supervisors and contractors, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Assign and distribute work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS), collaborating with supervisors or third-party contractors as needed.
  • Receive and verify customer work requests, entering information into the CMMS and issuing work orders to supervisors or contractors.
  • Schedule off-site calibration send-aways using the CMMS.
  • Liaise with contractors and procurement to obtain valid purchase order numbers for non-contract work orders.
  • Communicate with end-users and contractors to determine priority and agree on service dates.
  • Use Client systems to book site visits for third-party contractors.
  • Liaise with LIS Technical Administrators to ensure calibration labels are prepared and distributed according to documented processes.
  • Maintain open communication with end-users regarding work order status until completion.
  • Review and update CMMS records to reflect current equipment status.
  • Escalate any issues or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain training and compliance in areas of health and safety, security, environmental, and operational aspects of daily activities.
About You:

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • A good educational background and 3-5 years of administrative experience.
  • An excellent understanding of customer service principles.
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with CMMS databases and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
