Job Title: Laboratory Instrument Support (LIS) Scheduler

We are recruiting for a Laboratory Instrument Support (LIS) Scheduler to join an industry leading manufacturer of Scientific Instruments. This permanent role will be based on one of their client sites in Stevenage .

About the Role:

The main purpose of this position is to organise and coordinate the engineering work required on contracted and sometimes non-contracted laboratory instruments as part of the onsite specialist engineering team.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Work Order Management: Assign, distribute and schedule work orders using the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS), liaising with supervisors or third-party contractors as needed.
  • Customer Requests: Receive and verify written and electronic customer work requests, entering information into the CMMS and issuing work orders to supervisors or third-party contractors where necessary.
  • Scheduling: Schedule off-site calibration sendaways using the CMMS.
  • Purchasing: Liaise with third-party contractors and procurement to ensure valid purchase orders are in place for non-contract work orders.
  • Communication: Communicate with end-users and third-party contractors to determine priority and schedule work.
  • Site Visits: Book site visits using Client systems.
  • Label Preparation: Liaise with the LIS Technical Administrator to prepare and distribute calibration labels, following documented processes.
  • Status Updates: Keep end-users informed about work order status until completion.
  • Record Keeping: Review and update CMMS records to reflect current equipment status.
  • Troubleshooting: Escalate issues or concerns in a timely manner.
About You:

To be considered for this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Administrative Experience: 3-5 years of administrative experience with a good educational background.
  • Customer Service: Excellent understanding of customer service principles.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • CMMS Experience: Experience working with CMMS databases.
