Purpose of role
To provide exemplary operational leadership in a service area to deliver the key outcomes for the Borough and its residents
To deliver the services, driving performance and overseeing service related projects in accordance with expectations and maximising effectiveness, value for money and reducing costs
To provide effective and inspirational leadership and management of our people.
To ensure a commercial approach to the management of services, contractors and suppliers
To drive continuous improvement and development of services drawing on best practice, emerging techniques and approaches
To contribute to and support the council's wider corporate and political priorities, and strategic-objectives within and across the service areas, and on projects across the Council as required.
To work in partnership with external organisations, professional bodies, community, resident and business groups where relevant to the delivery of better services
To work collaboratively across the Council with a focus on organisational and borough wide benefits in the delivery of service outcomes.
To work alongside the director and advise the Council's Corporate Management Board, Leader, Portfolio Holders and Cabinet in all matters relating to service operations, and policy as required.If you are interested in this role please send your updated CV in the first instance
