The SEN Teacher Job

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking to make a real difference in the lives of children? We are seeking a SEN Teacher for a vibrant school with students aged 11-19 specialising in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), severe and profound multi learning difficulties in Lambeth.

In this rewarding SEN Teacher role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom and will develop individualised learning plans that promote engagement, independence, social skills, literacy and numeracy skills, in which you will remain with the same class, providing consistency for yourself and the students.

The successful SEN Teacher applicant would be joining a fantastic community based school in the heart of Lambeth for children with severe and complex learning difficulties. The school provides a range of unique enabling environments, both indoor and outdoor, which are used to maximise learning opportunities and meet pupil's specific needs and allows the students to gain independence and life skills.

SEN Teacher Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement personalised educational programs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and educational psychologists.
- Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting approaches as the secondary teacher in the classroom
- Engage with parents and caregivers to support student development at home and in school

- Work with and lead a support team within the classroom

SEN Teacher Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of SLD/PMLD.
- Experience working in a special needs education setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
