About the role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to support children across Key Stages 1 and 2. You will play a crucial role in helping children with ASD navigate the school day, ensuring their academic, emotional, and social needs are met. Working closely with the SENCO and classroom teachers, you’ll implement tailored learning strategies, sensory support, and behaviour management techniques, helping students thrive in a mainstream school environment. This is a long-term, full-time position offering you the chance to build lasting relationships with students and staff while making a significant impact on the children’s educational journey.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD or similar SEN needs.

• Knowledge of strategies for supporting children with ASD, including sensory integration and communication methods.

• Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping children with special educational needs thrive.

• A relevant TA qualification or experience working in a similar setting is desirable.

• A valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD across Key Stages 1 and 2.

• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and teachers.

• Support students’ sensory needs and behaviour management, promoting a calm and positive learning environment.

• Assist in developing social communication skills and fostering independence in students.

• Adapt classroom materials and activities to meet the needs of students with ASD.

• Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure cohesive support for the child.
