The role:

The Duty Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.
Primary objectives for the Duty Manager will be:

To ensure the highest possible standards of health and safety and customer care within the Centre.

To develop and promote an exciting, innovative leisure programme in order to increase the usage and profitability of the Centre.

To assume shift management responsibility for the Centre, responsible for the day-to-day running of the centre, working alongside the Duty Manager team to manage the Reception, Group Ex, Gym and Recreation Assistant teams.

Reporting to the Operations Manager and/or Centre Manager.

The Person:

Required:

Will be able to gain acceptance and respect from clients and the teams involved.

Will be able to build strong relationships with customers, clients and employees.

Will be able to communicate at different levels of the organisation.

Will be able to meet the demands of the role by working on a shift basis including mornings, evenings and weekends, with additional hours when required.

Will be able to maintain and be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.

Will be able to perform recreation assistant duties when required.
Desirable:

A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable but not essential. If not currently held, the applicant will need to successfully pass an NPLQ within 3 months, and must therefore have a reasonable level of physical fitness with good swimming ability. The course will be fully funded by the centre.

Ideally you will have a Pool Plant Operators qualification and a recognised Leisure Management qualification. If not currently held, the applicant will need to successfully pass an PPO course within 3 months. The course will be fully funded by the centre.

Experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in a Leisure setting.

A recognised Level 2/3 Gym Instructor/Personal Training qualification would be desirable but not essential.

A recognised Exercise to Music/Group Exercise qualification would be desirable but not essential.
