Our client is a leading institution in Birmingham who are recruiting for a Fire Safety Officer to provide support and advice on Fire Safety to the Estates and broader organisation. The organisation is a prominent institution in Birmingham and plays an important role in helping shape the futures of individuals from all walks of life.

Reporting into the Head of Health & Safety, this role plays a critical part in providing professional advice and support for fire safety across all aspects of the site including construction projects and ensuring compliance as well as developing a positive fire safety culture.

The role will include conducting risk assessments, incident reports and follow up actions as a result and ensuring that the organisation are legally compliant. The role will also include ensuring that fire safety policies and procedures are up to date and that awareness is raised across the establishment and across key staff to include any relevant training.

This role is pivotal to the organisation and therefore candidates should be qualified in an appropriate fire related qualification with membership in a recognised professional body such as IFE or IFSM.

Candidates should be proactive in their approach to communicating and problem solving with an ability to converse well and identify and manage solutions.
