Overview:
On behalf of a prominent electronics manufacturing company located in North Lanarkshire, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Automation Manager. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to manage a small team and drive automation initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The salary for this position is negotiable, with an attractive benefits package that includes a performance-based bonus.
The Role:
As the Automation Manager, you will take on a key leadership position within the company, focusing on the implementation, optimisation, and maintenance of automated systems. You will be responsible for leading a dedicated team of engineers and technicians, ensuring that automation processes are efficient, reliable, and aligned with strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise a small team of engineers and technicians.
* Design, implement, and refine automation systems to improve manufacturing efficiency, quality, and productivity.
* Manage automation projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they meet timelines and budgetary constraints.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and develop innovative solutions.
* Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring smooth operation.
* Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in automation
* Ensure all automation activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Candidate Profile:
* Experience in automation within a manufacturing environment, preferably in electronics.
* Proven leadership abilities with experience managing and developing a team.
* Hands-on experience with automation technologies including PLCs, robotics, and control systems.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform under pressure.
* Project management experience with a demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
