About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialization in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to join our dedicated team. This full-time, long-term role involves working closely with students who are non-verbal and have complex needs related to ASD. As an SEN-TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting these students, helping them to engage with their education and achieve their personal and academic goals. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs and is looking for a fulfilling and rewarding position.
Application Requirements:
• Relevant qualifications and experience in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, particularly non-verbal children.
• A deep understanding of ASD and effective strategies for supporting non-verbal students.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work closely with students, teachers, and parents.
• A compassionate and patient approach to working with children with special educational needs.
• Experience with individualised education plans (IEPs) and implementing specific support strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with ASD, focusing on non-verbal communication and engagement.
• Implement and adapt individualised education plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
• Work closely with teachers to develop and deliver tailored learning activities and resources.
• Support students in developing their social skills, communication abilities, and emotional regulation.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
