Central is currently recruiting for a Progression Coach, to work in the Bromley area. The service provides support to 16 young people with medium to high support needs.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday – Friday on a rolling weekly rota covering early (8AM - 4PM), mid (10AM – 6PM) and late (2PM - 10PM) shifts. Temporary cover is required for approximately 1 - 3 months. The pay rate is £14.17 per hour, with £1.71 holiday pay, totalling £15.88 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;

* Hold a caseload of 6-7 young people and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcomes based Support Plans

* Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments

* Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations

* Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisation’s wider community programme of activities

* Deliver one to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with

* Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them

* Assist in preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in

* Carry out housing management duties, coordinating repairs, updating risk assessment and banking

* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable

* Have responsibilities as part of the team for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting

Please note, this role involves lone working.

* Experience of working with young people with complex needs such as homelessness, poor mental health and substance use

* Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments

* An understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures

* Commitment to promoting an environment which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others

* Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients.

* Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams

* Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
