Job Opportunity: Manufacturing Engineer

Are you passionate about manufacturing innovation and eager to make an impact in a dynamic environment? Do you thrive on solving complex engineering challenges and driving continuous improvement? We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our clients team, where you'll play a key role in shaping the future of their manufacturing processes.

About the Role:

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our clients manufacturing excellence initiatives. You’ll support the introduction and development of new projects, design changes, and improvements to current production processes for both new and existing customers. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and safety of our clients manufacturing operations. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, implement cutting-edge technologies, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that drive our clients success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Serve as the subject matter expert for laser processing activities.

* Integrate lessons learned from both engineering and shop floor perspectives into new process concepts, contributing to RFQ and development processes.

* Estimate process cycle times and assess their impact on equipment capacity, both for new and existing setups.

* Develop layout concepts reflecting lean principles and past learnings.

* Support the Engineering Manager in milestone activities including design reviews and build events.

* Oversee final engineering implementation, ensuring all key deliverables (cycle time, OEE, safety, etc.) are met.

* Lead improvement initiatives such as Scrap Reduction, OEE improvement, and 8D resolution.

* Drive the implementation of new equipment, automation systems, and production methodologies to enhance our clients manufacturing capabilities.

* Collaborate with equipment suppliers and internal teams to ensure smooth integration and successful deployment of new technologies.

* Work closely with Quality teams to establish and uphold high-quality standards across all manufacturing processes and products.

* Implement robust quality control measures to prevent defects and non-conformities.

* Investigate root causes of quality issues and develop effective corrective and preventive actions.

* Provide technical support to production teams, resolving issues swiftly to minimise downtime.

* Participate in cross-functional teams to address production challenges and ensure smooth operations.

* Develop and maintain essential manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and SOPs.

* Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen events, Six Sigma projects, and value stream mapping exercises.

* Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively engaging with frontline employees and implementing their valuable feedback.

* Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to manufacturing efficiency, quality, and safety, driving initiatives to meet and exceed targets.

Experience and Skills:

* Proven ability to track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) related to efficiency, quality, and safety.

* Familiarity with equipment standards and a strong understanding of laser cutting/welding processes.

* Knowledge of PLC and SCADA programming is desirable.

* Previous experience in defining standard automated equipment is advantageous.

What We’re Looking For:

* Enthusiastic, results-oriented, and self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.

* A team player capable of building strong relationships with project teams and customers.

* Excellent communication skills across all levels, both within and outside the business.

* Ability to thrive under pressure in a demanding environment.

* Strong planning and organisational skills, with a knack for driving projects to successful completion.

Why Join Us?

This is more than just a job—it's an opportunity to be a key player in a forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, quality, and continuous improvement. If you're ready to bring your expertise and passion for manufacturing excellence to a team that’s shaping the future of production, we want to hear from you.
