About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to support students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs. You’ll work closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and families to provide tailored support, helping students with ASD reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Application Requirements: To be successful in this role, you should have:
• Proven experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a school or similar setting.
• A good understanding of SEN strategies, particularly those related to ASD.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A valid DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing one-on-one and group support for students with ASD.
• Assisting in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborating with teachers and the SENCO to ensure inclusive learning environments.
• Encouraging social interaction and supporting emotional well-being.
• Observing and reporting on students’ progress and challenges to inform future strategies.
