Job Title: Fit-Out Estimator
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Project Value: Up to £10 Million
Company Overview:
Fairmead is recruiting on behalf of a valued client, an established leader in the fit-out sector, specialising in high-value commercial and retail interiors. With projects reaching up to £10 million, our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality spaces that harmonise design, functionality, and cost efficiency.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Fit-Out Estimator to join our client’s team, responsible for accurately costing and supporting the successful delivery of large-scale fit-out projects. This role requires hands-on expertise in cost estimation, budget management, and strong supplier negotiation skills to maintain control over the financial elements of each project from tender to handover.
Key Responsibilities:
* Estimating & Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for labour, materials, and equipment, producing competitive bids that reflect project specifications and client expectations.
* Budget Management: Continuously monitor and track budgets, ensuring accurate cost control and promptly addressing any variances to maintain financial alignment.
* Cost Analysis & Value Engineering: Conduct rigorous cost analysis and apply value engineering principles to maximise efficiency and project value without compromising on quality.
* Supplier & Subcontractor Management: Cultivate and manage relationships with suppliers and subcontractors, securing favourable terms and ensuring high-quality standards are consistently met.
* Risk Assessment: Identify potential cost and timeline risks, implementing proactive measures to mitigate any financial or operational impact.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong communication with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to align financial objectives and provide transparent cost updates throughout project phases.
Skills & Requirements:
* Experience: At least 3–5 years of estimating experience within the fit-out or construction sector, with an emphasis on interior projects.
* Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software (such as Bluebeam, CostX) and a solid understanding of fit-out and construction processes.
* Analytical & Organisational Abilities: Detail-focused, with strong budgeting skills and the ability to handle complex cost data with precision.
* Communication & Negotiation Skills: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, capable of managing stakeholder expectations and securing competitive pricing.
* Problem Solving: Skilled in identifying solutions under pressure to keep projects within budget and on schedule.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious estimator to apply their expertise in a dynamic and high-profile fit-out environment. If you’re ready to influence the financial and operational success of significant interior projects, we encourage you to apply through Fairmead
