If so, we have an amazing opportunity for you Step Teachers are working with a Primary school in Havering and are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with extensive experience in supporting students with ADHD, challenging behaviour, autism, Asperger's, and dyslexia to join a school that promotes high aspirations and contributes to student development. Please be aware that this is a long-term ongoing role scheduled to start in December 2024.

Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development.

The SEN Teaching Assistant should assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.

Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence.

Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN.

The SEN Teaching Assistant should maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports.

Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant:

Previously working as a Teaching Assistant with SEN experience in a mainstream school.

A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.

Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings.

Driver's licence is preferred but not required.
