Astute's team is partnering with one of the UK leaders in waste management and specialist industrial services to recruit a Waste Engineer to join its team in Berkeley.
The Waste Engineer role comes with a salary of £40,000 - £50,000 dependant on experience plus 25 days annual leave. This role would suit someone with a background working in the radioactive or hazardous waste sector and an understanding of supporting in project delivery. Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Project Manager you will:
Be responsible for managing the movement of waste from the Berkeley facility to the waste recovery park.
Support in the management of the waste framework, including managing client interface as well as working with the regulators and the on-site teams.
Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards, environmental permits, and that regulatory standards are met.
Create and manage waste management documents, including preparation of document packs for waste shipments.
Work with accredited labs to manage waste analysis, reporting on results and carrying out BAT/BPM assessments.
Assist Project Manager with day-to-day tasks and ensure smooth operations.
Arrange waste shipments with hauliers.
Inspect waste and facilities as needed.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
HNC/HND/Degree in Chemistry/Physics related subject
Full UK Driving license
An interest in the environmental/ waste management industry
Safety conscious with a view to improve safety culture/report any H&S issues
Ability to deal with clients in a professional manner

Basic Salary of £40,000 - £50,000
