Fairmead is recruiting for an Estimator on behalf of a highly respected fit-out contractor based in Cambridge. Renowned for their expertise in Cat A and Cat B fit-outs, this company delivers exceptional results across commercial offices, laboratories, and bespoke refurbishments. About the Role

As an Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the Managing Director and driving the business’s growth. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive costings across a diverse range of Cat A and Cat B fit-out projects, ensuring precision in pricing and project planning. The company specialises in creating inspiring and functional workspaces, offering solutions that meet client needs with innovation and attention to detail. Key Responsibilities:

* Develop detailed and accurate estimates for Cat A and Cat B fit-out projects, ensuring all costs, timelines, and resource requirements are effectively captured.

* Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to ensure estimates align with the company’s strategic objectives.

* Assess project specifications, client briefs, and drawings to deliver competitive pricing and identify potential risks.

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials, labour costs, and market trends to ensure estimates remain competitive.

* Build and sustain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to support effective project delivery.

Ideal Candidate:

* Proven experience as an Estimator within the fit-out or refurbishment sector, with particular expertise in Cat A and Cat B projects.

* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to produce precise cost breakdowns.

* Proficiency in using estimating software and Excel.

* Capable of working independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.

* Commercially astute with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
