The duties of the Repairs & Refurbishment Manager include but are not limited to :

* Management of the Repairs & Refurbishment Team – including Supervision and all Engineer resources

* Manage all Repairs & Refurbishments Operations within SSR, focusing on safety, efficiency, department performance/growth & departmental key performance indicators (KPI’s)

* Plan and Organise Engineer Resources with assistance from the Repairs & Refurbishment Supervisor, with a view to achieving targeted utilisation, predominantly within the Repairs & Refurbishment Workshop as well as assisting the Service Department with additional on-site requirements where needed.

* Manage Repairs & Refurbishment resources with a view to ensuring all the required skills and knowledge is available to complete the relevant tasks required, identify areas of improvement, and assist with recruitment accordingly. Improve Repairs & Refurbishment capabilities as part of the process.

* Complete regular Appraisals for any responsible employees as well as assisting with their personal development. Identify Training requirements within the Department and plan accordingly.

* Monitor project performance to ensure agreed due dates are achieved or if not possible that the customer is updated on delays. Assess options of alternative supply when delays are experienced

* Review current working instructions/standard operating procedures within the dept, advising possible improvement areas or additional procedures required and implement as necessary.

* Ensure all hazards within the department are assessed and relevant Risk Assessments are in place for all activities, complete regular reviews and complete additional Risk Assessments if required.

* Actively assess options to promote and secure additional Repairs & Refurbishment projects at both existing and new Customer Sites both in the UK and Overseas.

* Actively assess and promote Reverse Engineered components, work with Design Eng. resources to produce design, generate BOM, cost accordingly and issue quotations to customers.

* Visit Customer Sites as required to support the above, offer support and promote other SSR Services.

* Work with the SSR General Manager/Spares Manager and others within the business to locate additional Sub-Contractors able to assist with Spares and Repairs requirements during periods of unavailability within the Production Facility, ensuring all correct procedures for supplier selection are adhered to.

* Work with the SSR General Manager on identifying Objectives and Key Results in line with the company’s Strategic Business Plan. To increase the overall service provided to our valued customers.

* Report to the SSR General Manager monthly the following – 1. Sales predicted (budget) Vs Actual Sales. 2. Gross Margin generated against budget. 3. Order Intake – monthly actual and predicted. 4. General Repairs & Refurbishment Dept. information.

* Work with the SSR General Manager to review departmental budgets and set future annual sales budgets with a view to increasing sales year on year, as well as assessing other areas of growth.

* Assist with Website maintenance and Video Marketing and other Marketing Tools to further promote the department/division capabilities with a view to increasing growth and reputation.

* Ensure high levels of quality are maintained and all relevant TBS Standards/Procedures are adhered to. • Create QC1’s for any Repairs & Refurbishment-related issues in manufacture or customer complaints.

* Monitor and action the above QC1’s to ensure improvements are made prior to additional supply.

* Ensure all company standards and procedures are adhered to by all within the department.

* Work the necessary hours to complete the task in hand and be available if required out of hours.

* Work as part of a team and contribute to the improvement of products and services. • Provide training for other members of SSR where required.

Experience

* The requirements of the job include but are not limited to :-

* At least 5yrs experience working in the ‘Heavy Engineering’ Industry, preferably working with Centrifuges/Associated Equipment or other similar Rotating Equipment.

* At least 5yrs experience in a Supervision/Managerial position within the above industry

* Previous experience of working with Customers/Clients directly, with proven experience of providing efficient high quality customer service – willingness to travel to Customer Sites (UK & International).

* Awareness of latest Health & Safety requirements and other regulations within the workplace.

* Good work ethic and willingness to further develop their individual skills and knowledge whilst also mentoring others within the department/company with their own progression.

* Team focused and flexibility to be able to react promptly to urgent requirements.

* Ability to work to targets (KPI’s) and drive growth within the department/division. 8. Computer literacy – Microsoft Office/Excel etc. and Engineering ERP Systems.
