As the Senior Facilities Manager for the London Estate, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless operation of iconic royal residences, including Buckingham Palace, St James’s Palace, and Clarence House. You’ll be responsible for managing both Hard and Soft Facilities Management services, ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance across these historic sites.

Leading a team of Facilities Managers, Maintenance Technicians, and Electricians, you will ensure service contracts are delivered to the highest standards and that all health and safety regulations are met. You’ll manage planned and reactive maintenance, oversee the smooth running of official events, and ensure that our work has minimal impact on daily operations.

You will also have a crucial role in managing an annual budget of £2-3 million, overseeing contract administration, supplier relationships, and performance standards, all while driving a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead the Facilities Team: Ensure high performance, adherence to Royal Household standards, and effective line management.

* Manage Specialist Contracts: Oversee Hard and Soft FM contracts, ensuring works are completed to the required standards and in line with statutory regulations.

* Oversee Event Preparation: Ensure the successful setup for official events, such as State functions and Garden Parties, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

* Ensure Compliance: Manage statutory duties, risk awareness, and legislative compliance, with regular reporting to senior management.

* Financial Management: Monitor budgets, oversee contract administration, and ensure compliance with financial processes.

* Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and service delivery.

Essential Criteria

Along with a passion for maintaining historic buildings, you have:

* Master’s Degree in a Facilities Management, Property or Construction-related discipline.

* IWFM Level 7 Qualification or equivalent

* Extensive experience in a Senior Facilities Management role working with both hard & soft facilities management services, including contract management.

* Strong knowledge of statutory standards for building maintenance and operation, such as Gas Safe, Asbestos, Legionella, and CDM.

* Demonstrable experience in statutory compliance, risk management, and managing contracts within a value-for-money environment.

* Proven experience managing budgets and financial processes.

* Excellent people management, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a diplomatic and collaborative approach.

* IT literate, with proficiency in MS Office and CAFM systems.
