Our established manufacturing Client based in Kent (Medway) is seeking a Assistant Buyer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of two others - the role of Assistant Buyer will suit candidates with experience of purchasing within manufacturing.

Hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday, 12.30pm finish Friday

Benefits: discretionary bonus scheme, 25 days leave + BH, rising to 27 days

contributory pension scheme, free parking

Own transport essential due to Client’s rural location

No hybrid working available

Assistant Buyer Job Purpose:

The Assistant Buyer will support the Senior Buyer & Buyer in sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to meet the needs of the organisation.

This role involves assisting with supplier negotiations, order placement, and inventory management to ensure timely delivery of quality products.

The Assistant Buyer will also help maintain records, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with procurement policies.

Assistant Buyer Experience and Qualifications:

* Good solid education English, Math & IT.

* Previous experience in a procurement or administrative role is preferred.

* Experience in the specific relevant industry Manufacturing or Engineering

* Basic understanding of market research, data analysis, and purchasing principles.

* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

* Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate.

* Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative.

* Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task and time-management skills.

* The ability to build effective collaborative working relationships.

* Excellent attention to detail and ability to work quickly and accurately.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
