Our client, a leader a marine engineering business, is recruiting for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the role will involve support the Financial Controller in producing accurate financial reports and driving continuous improvement across accounting processes.

Assistant Financial Controller
Job Description

Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and financial forecasts in line with IFRS.
Leading inventory controls, including valuation, monthly reviews, and the yearly stocktake process.
Reviewing project margins, working with the project team to analyse deviations and forecasting project costs.
Supporting junior finance team members and collaborating on labour absorption improvements with operations.
Acting as the primary liaison for external auditors, providing work papers and analysis for year-end audits. 
Assistant Financial Controller
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Holder of a relevant finance qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) with knowledge of UK GAAP/IFRS standards.
Strong analytical skills, with experience using data to drive process improvements.
Proficiency in Excel and the ability to work with large data sets.
