Job Description
You will
* Lead and support implementation of Secure by Design activities across DVSA architecture and through engagement with the Developer community, in line with the Government Cyber Security Strategy
* Bridge between architecture, the CISO and Cyber Security Teams to ensure alignment with Government Security Standards and Direction.
* Work with the DVSA and Digital Services to provide advice, guidance and architectural assurance on multiple projects that require broad architectural thinking.
* Learn emerging technologies and recommend how the DVSA can use them to benefit our customers and the transport sector.
* Develop and maintain security architecture artefacts that can be used to leverage security capabilities in projects and Services and meet our Digital & Data design principles such as re-use.

Additional Information
This role can be based in Bristol, Swansea, Nottingham, Newcastle, Oldham or Birmingham or Leeds your presence at one of these locations will form part of the working arrangements agreed with you. We operate a hybrid working model giving you greater flexibility about where and when you work. Our expectation is that you will spend a minimum 60% of your time at your base location. Visits to other DVSA sites or work locations count towards this.
Person specification
We are looking for individuals who have:
* Have strong hand on experience of at least two areas from identity and access management, cloud security, security testing (including for agile development), threat management, network or web application security.
* Be a great communicator with the ability to clearly explain the concept of EA, security and risk implications to a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Understand business need and balance this with risk mitigation in relation to security architecture across designs.
* Have experience of working in a multi-supplier environment, both designing security aspects of solutions and assuring the work of others to ensure coherent designs supporting an end to end service.
* Be comfortable using agile and waterfall delivery methodologies and a practical understanding of architectural models.

There may be an element of travel associated with this role to other DVSA offices, with some infrequent overnight stays.
