About the role: We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Haringey from January 2025. This full-time, long-term role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in helping children with additional needs thrive within the classroom environment. You will provide tailored support to students, assisting them with both academic tasks and social skills development. Your focus will be on ensuring that every child feels confident and capable in their learning, whether in small group settings or on a 1:1 basis.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children, ideally in a teaching assistant or SEN role.
• Understanding of ASD and other SEND needs.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team.
• A caring and patient approach to working with children.
• A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or teaching is desirable but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with ASD and other SEND needs.
• Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
• Support the class teacher in differentiating the curriculum to meet individual learning needs.
• Help create an engaging, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
