We’re looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join our Heath, Safety and Facilities team.

As our Health & Safety Manager, you’ll lead and inspire colleagues to promote a positive health & safety culture across Accent ensuring we are able to provide safe homes for customers and workplaces for colleagues. Utilising your strong stakeholder engagement skills, you’ll partner with all areas of the business to deliver a holistic H&S function in a dynamic and enthusiastic manner. In this role you’ll own relevant H&S policies, procedures and guidance ensuring they’re up to date with relevant changes to regulations, legislation, best practice and fit for purpose.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in the housing sector that can identify areas of weakness and prepare Accent for upcoming regulatory changes. You’ll be joining a growing team and will use your people skills to lead a small team embedding a culture of continuous improvement.

Salary: The spot salary for this post is £49,992 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

You’ll also receive:

• 28 days paid holiday (pro-rata excluding bank holidays) per year rising by 1 day per year up to a maximum of one working week.
• A choice of Pension Schemes including a Defined Benefit Scheme with a 7.5% member contribution or a Defined Contribution Scheme with a 4% member contribution and 4% employer contribution. Both pension schemes provide Life Insurance Cover.

• What skills/behaviours do you need to be a Health & Safety Manager?
• NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent
• Enthusiasm and the drive to deliver meaningful change
• Evidenced sector knowledge and a desire to improve safety standards in social housing
• Fantastic interpersonal and communication skills allowing you to communicate effectively across the entire organisation
• Experience in managing a remote team
• Experience in developing policies and procedures and an understating of HSG 65 and ISO 45001

Location: The successful candidate will be required to live within a commutable distance to our Peterborough office with travel throughout the south and east region as required.

We’re a keen promoter of agile working and encourage working from home, as long as we meet our customers’ needs. We’ll provide you with the equipment and software you’ll need for the purpose of your role however it will be your responsibility to have an appropriate space to work from as well as a suitable broadband connection/provider.

Interview Process

First stage – competency interview over Teams on the 21st/22nd October.
Second stage – Behavioural Assessment, presentation and final interview in person at our Peterborough office on Monday 28th October or Bradford on Tuesday 29th October.
