If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you starting as soon as possible in the Preston area Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a SEN secondary school in Preston where all children have an Education Health and Care Plan.

The school was rated 'Good' by OFSTED in March 2023, and pupils within the school are aged 11-19 with Special Educational Needs, and these include MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant in this school, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enriching the learning experiences of all pupils. You will work closely with teachers, providing one-on-one assistance and small group support.

This is a long term role starting as soon as possible, with a daily rate ranging from £90-100 dependant upon experience. And Tradewind proudly pay you directly via PAYE through our own amazing in-house payroll team, without the need to sign up with a third party umbrella company The school are also looking to employ someone one a temporary to permanent (temp to perm) basis, so a permanent position would become available in 2025 for the right candidate

As part of this SEN Teaching Assistant role, your responsibilities will include:

Assisting with the implementation of individual education plans
Supporting pupils with their learning and personal care needs
Promoting independence and inclusion within the school community
Collaborating with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons
Monitoring and recording pupil progress

To join us and be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will need to:

Experience working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
Strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Teaching Assistant qualification, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential.
Hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks.
CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible.
Legal right to work in the UK.
