You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Have a passion for food and demonstrate an understanding of trends and market intelligence to support future development.
* Lead projects from an NPD perspective, providing the necessary expertise to ensure smooth translation from client brief to kitchen prototypes and ultimately to factory production.
* Maintain accurate records of all work undertaken, including critical paths in internal workbooks, customer documentation, and hard copy files that comply with BRC standards, relevant Codes of Practice, and client policies.
* Take responsibility for transitioning new product development from kitchen concept to technical process management, offering support throughout the process as needed.
* Stay informed about current and pending product legislation, applying this knowledge to ensure compliance in product development.
* Ensure adherence to the artwork process for all NPD projects and assist the Technical team with EPD changes where required.
* Represent NPD on the HACCP team, raising awareness of new products and processes and ensuring their impact on the food safety management system is clearly understood.
* Attend customer-initiated meetings and project update sessions as directed by the project lead or Customer Marketing Manager.
* Regularly contribute to benchmarking activities and market knowledge development.
* Foster effective and influential working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders while upholding and demonstrating the values of the client organisation.
What's required?
* Build and maintain strong relationships with both customers and internal teams, ensuring quality and effective communication.
* Demonstrate experience working within the major retail sector, with a strong understanding of its operations and expectations.
* Possess in-depth knowledge and insights into the food industry and its major customers.
* Exhibit effective organisational skills, including the ability to set goals, prioritise tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
* Show a strong understanding of customer NPD requirements, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience driving NPD projects within the food manufacturing sector.
* Display excellent project management skills and a high level of computer literacy, particularly with Excel and customer systems (e.g., Evolve).
* Possess exceptional written and oral communication skills to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
* Stay informed about updates and changes to packaging and food legislation, applying this knowledge as needed.
