Anderson Knight is currently recruiting a Category Manager for one of our clients based in West Dunbartonshire.

As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the strategic management of specific categories within the company’s product and service offerings. You will drive category performance, develop supplier relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement processes. This is a key role that directly impacts our operational efficiency and business success.

Key Responsibilities:

* Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to drive business performance, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry trends.

* Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier performance to ensure high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.

* Cost Optimisation: Identify opportunities for cost savings, operational efficiencies, and process improvements within the assigned category.

* Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to stay ahead of trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics, providing recommendations for category expansion or modification.

* Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including procurement, operations, and sales, to ensure category strategies align with the company's overall business objectives.

* Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for category-related expenses, ensuring effective allocation of resources and cost control.

* Reporting and Analytics: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and prepare regular reports on category performance, cost savings, and other critical metrics.

Requirements:

* Experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain within the shipping or logistics industry.

* Proven track record of managing supplier relationships, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.

* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
