Substance Misuse Recovery Worker

Apricus Resourcing are working with a private charity who are looking for a SM worker for an ongoing locum role within one of their teams based in Kensington/Chelsea.
Your role will be based at a service that understands the impacts that drugs/alcohol can have, they are compassionate and help with a range of areas not just drug & alcohol. The service have a firm belief harm reduction is not about enabling drug use, it is pragmatic, non-judgmental and empowering. They offer a number of services including naxolone, overdose prevention centres, opioid substitutes, group sessions, 1-2-1’s & much more.
Key Duties for the role include:
* To carry out comprehensive substance use assessments
* Formulate, monitor and review risk assessments and risk management plans
* Develop person centred recovery plans
* Deliver Group intervention sessions;
* Deliver and support harm reduction interventions, including needle exchange and access to physical health care including BBV and health screening;
The manager is looking for experienced candidates who are available to start fairly soon and have a proven track record of working within the drug and alcohol sector.
You will also need:
* Substance use knowledge;
* Experience and knowledge of effective caseload management;
* Demonstrable skills and knowledge in assessing risk presented by clients to themselves and others;
* Knowledge of engagement and intervention strategies;
* Harm reduction, suicide and self-harm aware;
The position is based on an ongoing agency role working Monday – Friday 9-5 with a pay rate of up to £20.25 per hour with the potential for the role to go permanent in the future.
