Social Interest Group are delighted build a team to support a new service in Kensington and Chelsea. This project as been part funded by Government End Rough Sleeping for good strategy and will provide support and accommodation to 10 individuals experiencing rough sleeping. This is an opportunity to deliver intensive, trauma informed support and interventions to enable people to stay safe and make and sustain positive changes. We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals who are able to work flexibly to meet the needs of this complex client group.

You will be confident in working in the given setting and can be compassionate, supportive, and empowering to others with the ability to form effective, positive, and motivational relationships We work alongside various partners and stakeholders so we are looking for a Support Mentor who can adapt and work well alongside other teams.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Act as a support mentor for a residents and contribute to the development and implementation of support plans, risk assessments and reviews. Provide advice, information, guidance and life skills training to residents and participants. Carry out welfare checks, and ensure the night service runs smoothly, reporting any concerns, incidents, and accidents in the correct manner to the right people/groups and being a proactive team worker in such cases. Ensure all residents and participants understand their rights and responsibilities and have access to the right tools and resources, to support them back into society and building networks.

Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external persons and agencies. Recognise signs of deteriorating mental health and initiate appropriate interventions to prevent a crisis. Follow safeguarding protocols and make referrals where necessary. Act as part of a team to manage health and safety, maintenance, rent/charge collections, arrears and void control for the service.

Administration duties will vary. This includes maintaining confidential records in a timely manner and containing information in accordance with relevant statutory and organisational policies. Other duties may include but not limited to, maintain clean and tidy offices and communal areas, removing rubbish, reporting repairs and ordering/replenishing supplies. Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.
