The service you will work in….Brent Mental Health Floating Support Worker

The Floating support team are based in the borough of Brent and support individuals in the community in their accommodation. There is a team of 6 line managed by the service manager. All staff are allocated a number of supported accommodation, regular supervision and team meetings, training opportunities and working within the wider team.

A day in this role looks like….As a Floating Support Worker at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Brent Mental Health Floating Support Service). Your contributions will directly influen ce the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

To formulate, implement and review personalised, client-focused support plans with service users and associated professional participation.

To be responsible for developing, supporting and maintaining independent living skills and general wellbeing of y service users within the Brent Mental Health Support Service.

To support service users to maximise their financial security and independence through access to employment, training and volunteering opportunities and into paid employment.

Demonstrable experience of working with individuals who have experienced mental health and / or dual diagnosis issues, ex-offenders and with service users who are homeless or at risk of homeless.

Takes appropriate steps in empowering service users to make choices and take appropriate control for their wellbeing in order to achieve appropriate levels of independence.

Awareness of health and safety issues.

To motivate service users to participate in and take ownership of all aspects of their daily lives

To liaise effectively with other agencies involved in the care and support of service users and to engage in multi-agency case conferences and support planning where required and appropriate
