This includes people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, and victims of domestic abuse. Individuals are supported to transition into longer-term accommodation and can also get help to access education, employment opportunities and healthcare.

The key responsibilities will require you to work proactively and liaise with customers, building a rapport and being the first point of contact in the building overnight. Shifts are on a lone working basis.  You will work within a wider team to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment, helping customers begin to recover from the trauma experienced through homelessness and support residents through their transition to more permanent housing solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a rapport with residents, providing support and guidance.
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility overnight.
Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote a safe living environment.
Record and manage information accurately using our database systems.
Managing the premises, and ensuring the swift turnaround of accommodation for new arrivals.

As the successful Supported Housing Officer, it is essential that you have previous experience in supported accommodation, aiding vulnerable individuals dealing with financial hardship, homelessness, mental health, and substance misuse.   It would desirable if you have a qualification in housing, social work, or community work and have experience in a security or caretaker role. The client would also be interested in applicants who have lived experience with issues related to their service users, such as substance misuse and homelessness.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and within a team. Competent in using IT systems, data recording and management.  You will also hold a valid driving licence and access to a car.

Please note: this position involves work that is a regulated activity and is therefore subject to receipt of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure with a barred list check from the Disclosure and Barring Service. This is in accordance with the Police Act 1997 and the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are passionate about helping others and have the required skills and experience, please apply by forwarding an up-to-date CV as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.
