Opportunity Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Lawyer with a robust background in healthcare law, particularly mental health law. This pivotal role involves providing strategic legal support, managing a diverse team, and collaborating on critical legal matters such as healthcare-related queries, medical malpractice claims, inquests, and investigations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive legal advice on all aspects of healthcare law to the organisation.
  • Manage and oversee a diverse caseload of contentious litigation matters.
  • Provide leadership on complex inquest cases, including the preparation of witness statements and case files.
  • Offer regulatory guidance related to various health regulators, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  • Draft and review operational policies and procedures.
  • Develop and present training sessions on healthcare law for staff across the organisation.
  • Mentor and support junior legal team members to enhance their professional growth.


Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor/barrister with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in mental health law and Inquests.
  • Experience in an in-house legal environment is advantageous.
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities, with a proactive and tenacious approach.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new areas of law.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
